From Anguston, South Australia, Shannon qualified to represent South Australia at the 1999 National Championships through South Australia Sport Shear State selection.
Shannon qualified into the 1999 Sports Shear National final  by being in the top six from the semi-final shorn over 15 merinos, against the best two shearers from each State.

From Esperance, Western Australia, Aroha qualified to represent Western Australia at the 1999 National Championships through West Australian Sport Shear State selection.
Aroha  qualified into the 1999 Sports Shear National final  by being in the top 4 from the semi-final against the best woolhandlers from each State. Aroha has been at the top of the woolhandling where ever she competes, and has been nominated and accepted as a Master Woolhandler by the NZ National Committee
